Organized
The Corporate Advisory Board and Group was organized in 1980.
Purpose
To promote minority banking programs among major corporations and support the achievements of the NBA objectives.
Membership
Membership in the Corporate Advisory Group (CAG) is based on the performance of a corporation with respect to its minority banking program. The members of the CAG elect from their membership, individuals to serve on the Corporate Advisory Board (CAB). There are currently fourteen (14) corporations that are members of the CAB.
Organizational Structure
Annually the CAB selects two distinguished members to serve as officers of the body. The two elected positions are the Chairman and the Chairman-Elect (i.e., the next year's Chairman). The current Chairman is Ray Cummings, Vice President, Phoenix Home Life
Activities
The CAB/G participates in four NBA meeting each year. These include the NBA's Legislative Conference, and the NBA's Annual Convention. The CAB/G promotes "doing business" with minority and women-owned banks by conducting briefings for other corporations interested in establishing relationships with minority and women-owned banks.
CAB/G also assists the NBA in recruiting new institutional and affiliate member banks and a variety of other assistance to the banks and the Association. (See complete list of CAB/G members below).
