Job Title: Grant Writer & Manager
Location: Washington, DC (hybrid)
National Bankers Association Foundation is the nonprofit arm of the National Bankers Association (NBA), the leading trade association for Minority Depository Institutions (MDIs) whose membership includes Black, Hispanic, Asian, Pacific Islander, Native American, and women-operated banks across the country and advocate on legislative and regulatory matters concerning and affecting the industry, members, and the communities they serve.

MDIs are federally insured banks that serve predominantly minority communities, in which minorities own at least 51% of the voting stock and/or comprise most of the board of directors and serve predominately communities of color.

Overview
​
National Bankers Association Foundation is seeking an adept Grant Writer & Manager to procure funding from multiple sources. This role entails identifying, researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals, managing the entire grant process, and building/maintaining strong relationships with current and potential funders. The position offers flexibility as either a full-time employee or 1099 contractor. Join us in securing funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

Responsibilities:

Identify and research potential funding sources that align with the organization's mission and goals, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

Write high-quality grant proposals that meet funder requirements and submit them on time.

Manage the entire grant process, including researching and collecting data, collaborating with program staff, preparing budgets, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements.

Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential funders to increase funding opportunities.

Ensure that all grant applications and reporting are completed on time and are of high quality.

Work with program staff to ensure that grant-funded programs are implemented and evaluated according to funder requirements.

Provide regular updates on the status of grant applications and funded programs and track and report on grant income and expenses to meet funding goals.

Stay current on funding trends and opportunities in the sector to identify new funding sources and strategies.

Qualifications:
​

Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or 5-7 years of relevant experience.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant writing and management for a nonprofit organization.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-
Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-
Strong organizational and project management skills.
-
Knowledge of budgeting and financial management.
-
Familiarity with donor databases and grant management software.
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Location and Compensation:

The compensation for this position will be commensurate with experience and is competitive with similar positions in the nonprofit sector.

Benefits for this position will depend on whether the candidate is a full-time employee or a contractor. Full-time employees may be eligible for health insurance, retirement benefits, paid time off, and other benefits.

This hybrid position is based in Washington, DC.
