(October 10, 2024) – The National Bankers Association, the trade association dedicated to the advancement of Minority Depository Institutions (MDIs), is proud to announce its 2024 Annual Conference on October 10-11 in Washington, DC, themed “Equity in Action: Charting a Course for Inclusive Banking.” This event will bring together minority-owned and -operated banks, policymakers, industry and fintech leaders, foundations, and regulators to foster ongoing economic empowerment and financial inclusion, particularly in response to the rising wave of anti-Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) sentiments.

Fireside chats featuring regulators and leaders in DEI, fintech, and banking innovation.
Expert panels discussing DEI trends, climate change, the changing banking landscape. and the potential impacts of the upcoming Presidential election on the banking sector.

Additionally, the conference will mark a significant leadership transition within the organization. After four years of dedicated service, Robert E. James II, President and CEO of Carver Financial Corporation will step down as Chairman of the National Bankers Association. Todd McDonald, President of Liberty Bank & Trust, will succeed him, continuing a remarkable legacy of leadership as both men follow in the footsteps of their fathers, Robert E. James and Alden McDonald, who also served as Chairmen of the association.
