WASHINGTON, D. C. – Today, the National Bankers Association (NBA) released the following statement in response to the resignation of Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Chair Jelena McWilliams.

“We thank Chairman Jelena McWilliams for her support to the Minority Depository Institutions (MDIs). The NBA and its members appreciate McWilliams’ instrumental leadership in the implementation of an Office of Minority and Community Development. Together, we are grateful for her efforts and actions that were taken since 2018 to preserve and enhance MDIs and everything she’s done to help close the racial wealth gap. We wish her all the best.”
